About This Role:



Reporting to the Head of Retail, the Area Manager (AM) will hold responsibility for the consistent achievement of target, team and business development within a specific region. The AM will successfully lead the region to maximise net subscriber and revenue growth. With a solid focus on strong leadership, the AM will be a member of the Retail Sales Management team driving overall channel success.

As an AM your leadership and feedback to the Sales Management team is imperative in identifying trends and maximising opportunities.

Expectations From The Role:

Key responsibilities:
  • Recruit, lead, motivate, coach and develop a team of experienced store managers.

  • Drive and support the team in the delivery of business results in line with company expectations

  • Consistently and successfully achieve regional target.

  • Provide sales management with resources and information required to achieve their objectives.

  • Assume the role of company and brand ambassador.

  • Full leadership responsibilities focusing on the development of the team in all work activities – including coaching, development and building a high performance culture in line with our values.

  • Partner with HR and Training to ensure full cohesiveness on the Retail People Agenda inclusive of performance and talent management.

  • Successfully develop retail team in line with Group Succession Planning and Talent Agenda

  • Analyse and optimize stock availability within stores and the region

  • Proactively engage in managerial meetings in relation to business performance, new initiatives and other pertinent issues Ensuring a positive and motivated work environment and smooth, effective and efficient collaboration

  • Proactively maintain awareness of market trends in the retail industry, understanding forthcoming customer initiatives and monitoring local competition.

  • Analyse sales figures and produce forecasting as necessary.

  • Work cross functionally to build relationships and ensure full cohesiveness along the customer journey (i.e. customer care)

  • Work to identifying non performing areas, introducing solutions to turn the area around into a profitable section.

  • Take full ownership for the management responsibility within the region.

  • Supporting the implementation of the company strategy in your district

  • Preparing for and participating in Area Manager meetings


Key Tasks
  • Communicate and advocate full knowledge of our company goals and objectives, position in the market against the competition.

  • Ensure full awareness and compliance to Standard Operating Procedures across the team.

  • Completing regular cash management checks

  • Work as part of the Retail Management team in demonstrating the nature and importance of high quality sales and customer service levels.

  • Build and maintain relationships within key business areas across the Business, the wider eirc Group and third party suppliers as necessary.

  • Proactively work to promote Group values and embed a supporting culture across the eir Retail business

  • Planning KPIs and store staffing structure for your district ensuring on budget delivery

  • Create and implement annual and bi annual business plans for your district

  • Supporting projects through analysis and provision of feedback
