Job description

The Assembly/Kitting Operator is responsible for reading and understanding blueprint specifications and work instructions in order to assemble metal parts of various sizes into kits, which are then placed in boxes for shipping.

Principal Accountabilities: (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):

• Prepares work to be accomplished by studying assembly instructions, blueprint specifications, and parts lists; gathering parts, subassemblies, tools, and materials
• Positions parts and subassemblies by using templates or reading measurements
• Assembles components by examining connections for correct fit
• Verifies specifications by measuring completed component
• Resolves assembly problems by altering dimensions to meet specifications; notifying supervisor to obtain additional resources
• Operates forklift as needed
• Willingness to cross train and work in other areas of the warehouse
• Maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations
• Assist with other duties as assigned
• Adheres to all company policies and procedures
