These positions are for the 2nd shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm working Tuesday through Saturday. Initially, training will be conducted on the 1st shift Monday through Friday from 6:00am-2:30pm.
SUMMARY:
Repairs and maintains the Assembly machines to ensure compliance with JST’s Quality standards.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND/OR RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Analyzes mechanical and operational problems on assigned equipment and plans for, and takes corrective actions. Make necessary corrections and running adjustments to maintain maximum production and quality.
2. Perform changes to assembly machines to alternate pole sizes and performs scheduled preventive maintenance.
3. Tests equipment to check operations. Clears jams and inspects product after setup or repair.
4. Examines, tests and measures product from assigned equipment for quality specification by use of gauges and measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers, recording data on appropriate forms and digital platforms. Examine products for visual defects by use of microscope analog and digital.
5. Determine defects and analyze root cause and take corrective actions.
6. Operates equipment during relief periods or manpower shortages.
7. Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department and employees.
8. Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work problems.
9. Sets up machines and repairs them as needed.
10. Report machine and equipment malfunctions to the Maintenance Supervisor.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma and trade school.
2. Previous assembly or other type of machinery operation a plus.
3. Multi-tasking and prioritization ability a necessity.
4. Ability to use precision measuring equipment (micrometers, dial calipers, comparators, etc.)
5. Minimum of 2 years experience in proven mechanical abilities, basic electrical, pneumatic, mechanical.
6. Must be able to converse and write in English using technical terms for the production industry.
7. Working knowledge of addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, percentages, English/metric conversions, and simple application geometry.
8. Should be able to make advanced decisions concerning quality, machine operation and processing adjustments.
9. WILL TRAIN PERSONS WITH PROPER MECHANICAL SKILLS.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
1. Ability to work on feet for an 8-hour shift.
2. Ability to see small defects with the aid of a microscope.
3. Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally.

1. Eye protection and steel toe/ composite safety shoes are required in all production areas.
2. Exposure to oils greases and solvents used for assembly cleaning.
