Specifically, we are seeking the following Full Time Assistant Store Manager in our Poughkeepsie, NY store to learn our business and grow beyond the role.

The Assistant Store Manager will be responsible for the overall performance of the store with a focus on sales and profitability. The Assistant Store Manager supports leading the store team and coordinating daily activities to support store operations, including the sales floor, front-end, and stockroom. This position will develop the team to drive sales and service, by focusing on the customer, inventory management, and strong operational and merchandising execution.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Drives sales and service performance through execution of a productive freight flow process, efficient front-end operation, and positive in store experience.
• Role models selling behaviors, observes team members interacting with customers, ensures email collection for marketing outreach, recognizes, and redirects as needed.
• Collaborates with the Store Manager to execute store plans and priorities.
• Motivates, trains, and educates team members to perform their roles successfully; provides coaching and feedback that encourages growth and builds bench for next level assignments.
• Effectively communicates information, establishes expectations, and provides clear direction.
• Creates a culture where team members are excited to come to work.
• Empowers team members to satisfy customer needs, offers guidance during complex situations.
• Leads the implementation of merchandising plans in multiple areas of the store.
• Guides the execution of price changes, put backs, straightening merchandise and replenishment.
• Maintains housekeeping standards, ensures clean fixtures, and removal of debris and trash.
• Will perform opening and closing tasks and act as manager on duty when required, responsible for building security, team member safety, and emergency response.
• Fosters a safe working environment following company policies and procedures.
• Provides input on staffing; supports recruitment, onboarding, and facilitates training.
• Performs additional duties, as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS:

• Must be minimum of 18 years old.
• Prior retail supervisory experience required.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule to support business needs.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Occasionally be able to lift, push, pull and carry up to 40 pounds.
• Physical ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, sitting, and other activities necessary to perform job duties.
• May involve reaching, bending, twisting, stooping, kneeling, and climbing ladders.
