The University of Chattanooga Foundation seeks applications and nominations for an experienced and highly organized creative professional with exceptional leadership skills to serve as Assistant Vice Chancellor for Communications and Constituent Relations.
Reporting to the Vice Chancellor of Advancement, the AVC manages the operation and strategy for the marketing, communications, stewardship, and donor relations units to create a strong link between the university and its alumni and donors, and to support the advancement division operational goals. As a member of the Vice Chancellor leadership team, this role will be responsible for supervising and leading (3) direct reports, Sr. Graphic Designer, Communications Coordinator, & Director of Stewardship and Donor Events, and (2) indirect reports. Duties include but not limited to:
Communications & Marketing
- Oversight of the advancement brand including setting strategy for the message, visual, distribution, and implementation of both external and internal communications resources, tools, and best practices.
- Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all alumni and development communications and marketing channels to increase and retain our donors, engage alumni and supports with online/in-person efforts, and expand the exposure on the impact of philanthropy.
- Serve as the liaison between advancement, the UTC Office of Communications & Marketing, & system-wide Office of Communication to enhance the university’s reputation and encourage collaboration of key announcements.
Stewardship & Constituent Relations
- Oversight and in collaboration with the Director of Stewardship & Donor Events of the development of stewardship plans based on donor behavior.
- Serve as the strategic partner with UT Foundation Advancement Services to ensure proper stewardship of donor gifts, make strategic decisions regarding alumni/donor user experience, and define the digital strategy for the UTC campus.
- Provide direction to the team through regular review of donor events, stewarding efforts, and strategies/projects to engage alumni and donors.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in communication, public relations, marketing, stewardship/donor relations, or related field is required. Master’s degree and 6+ years’ experience preferred. Two years of supervision required. The ideal candidate will be highly supportive of and committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion.
