A-V rated boutique insurance defense litigation practice with an active trial caseload seeks an eager associate with a desire to learn, motivation to work hard, a willingness to take on new challenges, and who is goal-oriented and gets along well with people. Missouri bar licensure is required. Illinois licensure is a plus.

Associate attorneys can anticipate handling all aspects of trial work-up: preparation of pleadings, arguing motions, attending and taking depositions, and second-chairing civil trials. With your growth and development of experience comes more responsibility and opportunities. Our firm, in spite of its small size, takes a number of cases to trial annually, and have had some of the top defense verdicts as listed by a Missouri legal news organization. We handle state court cases throughout Missouri, as well as some in Illinois, and we likewise have a very active Federal Court caseload in Missouri, Illinois and Kansas. Travel, both in state and out-of-state, can be anticipated.

Ideal candidates will have an interest in helping the firm grow through marketing efforts, active involvement in professional writing and speaking at conferences and seminars. Participation in legal and insurance industry organizations is encouraged, and among the full benefit package (including professional liability insurance) we offer is paid CLE seminar attendance annually. Participation in the firm's 401-K account becomes available after your first full calendar year of service. The firm also offers some remote work opportunities under appropriate circumstances. The firm has its own on-site fitness room and locker facilities, and free parking in a quiet suburban setting.
