Team Rubicon (TR) is seeking an Associate, Construction Foreman. The Construction Foreman Associate will perform a wide array of hand-on construction tasks from rough framing through finish trims as well as supervise a small team of worksite employees and volunteers. This will require working knowledge of all phases of wood home construction, cabinetry, and trim. The Construction Foreman Associate will be responsible for supporting the design and development of TR's methods and models of construction.

Every day will be a challenge, but every month brings new opportunities for an organization that is quickly becoming a household name in disaster response. This position reports to TR's Manager, Rebuild Operations and is based out of TR's Houston Rebuild Office in Houston, TX.

Duties:

• Create an anticipated project schedule (critical path) in advance of project commencement and adjust schedule as needed based on production realities
• Oversee all subcontractor activities such as scheduling all necessary site preparation activities
• Verify and confirm material lead times and purchase orders to maintain efficient schedule
• Update the Project Manager on the progress of each project, including but not limited to, customer concerns, problems, and delays daily via project management software
• Supervise the activities of the worksite carpenters, staff, volunteers and independent subcontractors to ensure safety, provide support, and drive productivity
• Maintain an operational inventory of necessary tools, safety equipment, equipment and vehicles to perform specific activities assigned by the Project Manager
• Coordinate with Project Manager for on-time and on-budget completion of homes and punch lists while meeting all applicable building codes
• Maintain clean, safe work sites for volunteers and subcontractors, ensuring that all sites are compliant with OSHA guidelines
• Educate, develop, and mentor entry level employees and volunteers in all aspects of production and jobsite management
• Receive and manage all warranty calls; go onsite as needed to determine if warranty work is necessary or required
• Perform general construction tasks as needed according to the construction schedule, including rough carpentry, sheathing, siding, fascia and soffit installations, drywall installation tape, float and sanding of drywall, flooring installation, cabinet installation and finish carpentry and all other tasks outlined in the scope of work and change orders for each house

Experience and Background:

• 4 - 5 years of residential remodeling and construction experience
• Ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
• Experienced with technology tools, such as computer software and emails
• Valid driver's license with an excellent record (record to be verified with our insurance carrier)
• Preferred: First Aid and CPR Certification and OSHA-10 (If you don't have current certification, you will have three (3) months to obtain this at Team Rubicon's cost)

Special Requirements:

• Physical ability to climb permanent and temporary stairs, ability to climb ladders and negotiate work areas under construction is required
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus
• Performing this job requires use of hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls, sit, talk and hear, stand, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• This position will require some exposure to moving mechanical parts, high precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, outside weather conditions and risk of electrical shock. The noise in these work environments is usually moderate to very loud
• Ability and willingness to work evening and weekend schedules as needed
• Local Travel: Reliable transportation is required. The person filling this position will be expected to travel within Houston, TX and in an immediately surrounding community
• Other Travel: At least 15% non-local travel to support broader organizational activities

• $54,000 – $68,000 per year
