Autism Outreach Support Worker

Part Time Fixed Term 17 hrs.

Job Purpose

To provide a range of training and outreach supports to a client group with Autism Spectrum Disorder availing of the Autism Outreach Support Service provided by National Learning Network in consultation with the Health Service Executive.

Minimum Education & Skills required

• Hold a third level qualification to at least degree standard in ABA/Education/Psychology or have equivalent relevant work experience
• Have knowledge and experience in the delivery of services for people with ASD
• Experience of Positive Approaches to Behavioural Supports
• Vulnerable Adult Safeguarding and Child Protection awareness

Work Experience

• Minimum 3 years working with people with ASD
• Experience of maintaining relationships with stakeholders in the provision of the service
• Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team

Job Duties & Responsibilities

• Complete initial assessments in conjunction with and under the direction of the Admissions and Governance Team for the Service.
• Manage a client group referred to the service, planning time and work allocation for individual and group work, record keeping, meetings etc.
• Develop working relationships, foster trust and confidence and encourage participation of clients.
• Support clients to identify how they would like to live their lives, spend their time, engage with their communities and connect with the support networks they will need in the future.

• Full Clean Driving Licence.
