This role will provide a high level of visibility at the street level to carry out a wide variety of tasks to improve the overall appearance of the district they are assigned to.

Block by Block CA is seeking highly detail-oriented individuals to join our team as a Maintenance Mechanic.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The Maintenance Mechanic will oversee the performance and maintenance of large production machinery.

In this role, you will be responsible for:

· Performs preventive maintenance inspections and service on machines.

· Thoroughly cleans machines and machine parts, removing parts and reinstalling as necessary.

· Oils and lubricates moving parts on machines to ensure effective performance.

· Records and reports damaged, worn, or broken parts.

· Orders and installs replacement parts for machines.

· Repairs broken machines quickly and efficiently.

· Prepares reports documenting work performed.

· Cleans, organizes, inventories, stocks, and otherwise maintains shop areas, parts, tools, and supplies.

· Coordinates with managers to schedule regular maintenance on machines.

· Makes necessary modifications and implements tests runs; confers with product manager regarding test results and makes additional alterations to machinery as required.

· Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:

· Mechanically inclined with great problem-solving skills.

· Works well independently and with others.

· Good communication skills.

· Organized with attention to detail.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced and stressful environment.

· Education and Experience:

· Some vocational or community college with related coursework or equivalent experience, required.

· Physical Requirements:

· Prolonged periods standing and walking.

· Able to bend, stretch, push, pull, and move as needed to reach, clean, and service machinery.

· Must be able to visually inspect machines.

· Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.

Educational Requirements:

· Certificate of completion from a Mechanical trade school is preferred.

· Moderate computer skills and ability to navigate internal software programs to track maintenance.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite with focus on excel and outlook.

· 1 years of verifiable experience on small engines/equipment.

· Basic Maintenance Repair: 1 year (Preferred)

To be successful in this position, you should have a strong work ethic, an outgoing personality, and a great eye for detail. You should also be physically capable of walking or traversing continuously during an eight-hour shift, and be able to work outdoors in all conditions with provided inclement weather gear.

Physical Requirements Frequently lifts, carries or otherwise moves and positions objects weighting 60 to 100 lbs. Frequently bends, kneels and crouches. Repetitive movement of hands, arms and legs, sweeping, moping and pushing/lifting. Must be able to a drive vehicle. Continuous traversing and moving about. Exposure to adverse weather conditions, hazardous chemicals, odors, dirt and dust.
