The Ahern Hotel & Convention Center is seeking a Barback to join our team!

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES

The Barback is responsible for maintaining the bar environment and equipment. Assist guests when they have questions about the menus, wine list, liquor and cocktails, anticipate guest’s needs and address them accordingly.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greet all customers in a friendly, positive manner as they enter the property.
• Ensure the bar is properly stocked with liquor, wine, ice, juices, soda, garnishes, etc. Restock as needed.
• Maintain overall cleanliness by removing empty glasses, plates, tableware, etc. Wipe the bar top constantly.
• Wash & store properly the glassware.
• Perform all opening and closing procedures including loading and unloading necessary items for service.
• Abide by all state, federal, and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Must be 21+ years of age.
• One (1) year food and beverage experience.
• Legally able to work within State and Federal guidelines.

PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS

• Continuous standing and walking throughout the duration of each shift; no sitting unless on break. Pushing, pulling, bending and stooping frequently.
• Bending, lifting, and carrying up to 50 pounds frequently and without assistance.
• Exposure to hot and cold temperatures.
• Exposure to loud music in both indoor and outdoor venues.
• Constant face-to-face interactions with customers, requiring speaking and a professional demeanor.
• Maintain a neat, well-groomed appearance.
• Ability to multi-task and remain positive in busy working conditions.

WORKING CONDITIONS

• For Full-Time employees, expect to work an 8-hour shift on average, including weekends and holidays.
• For Part-Time employees, expect to work hours as needed / potentially a staggered shift including weekends and holidays.
• Comply with the brand and hygiene policies.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $15.00 per hour
