Travail Kitchen and Amusements is currently searching for a bartender to join our passionate and creative team in downtown Robbinsdale.

This position is either full-time or part-time, working daytime to close hours. Ideal candidates have open availability Wednesday - Saturday. Friday and Saturday 3pm- 11pm required for employment consideration .

At Travail, our service model is very different than your average restaurant. We do not have walk-ins or even table-side ordering for the most part. Our dining tickets are sold ahead of time via our online sales platform.

Guests may also order additional drinks (in addition to any pre-purchased drink flights), during their dining experience, but most of the drinks you'll be making are already pre-ordered and carefully incorporated into the day's prep schedule for creating batched cocktails.

Typical Work Schedule

Wednesday - Saturday: 2pm - Close OR Friday and Saturday 2/3pm - Close (11pm)

Restaurant Hours

Sunday - Tuesday: Closed

Wednesday - Saturday 5:30pm - 11pm

Desired Skills and Experience

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ years of bartending experience or solid serving experience with some bartending. Bartending training provided.
• Strong customer service experience, knowledge of customer service techniques and high quality consciousness
• Effective communication skills
• Superior time management skills
• Willingness to work well with others
• Food service/culinary skills a plus

What You’ll Be Doing

• Completing all necessary prep work to ensure a smooth service
• Follow proper use of equipment and keep up with cleaning standards
• Set up station according to procedures
• Follow health code and keep food/beverages labeled to Travail Collective standards and all applicable liquor laws
• Set up for guest arrival
• Understand your guest’s needs
• Understand menus, recipes, and knowledge of products and procedures in POS
• Ensure that all beverages meet restaurant standards with attention to detail
• Understand front of house steps of service in order to assist teammates if needed
• Run food and beverages and provide a concise description to guests
• Keep dish area and bar dish area clean and organized
• Ensure bar cooler and beverage cooler standards are maintained
• Ensure end of night cleaning tasks are completed and checked by MOD
• Attend beverage tastings
• Attend training classes held by bar director
• Keep up to date on relevant food and beverage practices and techniques
• Create and maintain a positive and communicative relationship with coworkers
• Meet hygiene and uniform standards

Physical Demands

• Must be able to stand/walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to reach overhead, bend, squat, kneel, sit
• Must be able to walk stairs and climb step ladders
• Must be able to use keyboard, mouse, and telephone
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally or 10 lbs. frequently
