Outline of Position:
The biotech scheduler is responsible for managing the detailed production plan at the Kinsale manufacturing plant. The scheduler will work closely with operations, process teams, and supply chain to execute the agreed production plan factoring in shutdowns, changeovers, and any inspection requirements where applicable. The biotech scheduler is responsible for assisting in maintaining facility capacity planning models and utilising SAP and RTMS to drive building performance and adherence to schedule.
Personal Considerations: The role operates on a standard working week. The job may also involve some non-scheduled call-in time to respond to emergencies etc.

Key Responsibilities:
- Responsible for translating long-term manufacturing plan to the operational plant schedule.
- Provide suitable scheduling tools and dashboards to effectively communicate the detailed day-to-day manufacturing plan across Dispensing, Media / Buffer, Upstream and Downstream operations.
- Co-ordinate a cross functional team to ensure campaigns reflect the needs of all key stakeholders including TSMS, Engineering, Maintenance, QCL, QA, Operations, and supply chain.
- Support complex activities such as annual facility shutdowns and campaign start-ups by working closely with Maintenance, Utilities, and Process Teams.
- Utilise and promote digital scheduling, manufacturing execution and ERP tools (RTMS, MES and SAP) to deliver operational excellence across manufacturing buildings and ensure consistency in approaches with other team members.
- Ensuring that SAP/APO (Advanced Planning & Optimization) accurately reflect current ROP (Requirement and Operation) Plan.
- Manage the production BOM and planning BOM process to ensure the material/consumable signals sent from Operations to Supply Chain are correct and maintained.
- Develop and drive Lean manufacturing concepts to improve efficiency for manufacturing operations.
- Adhere to Operation Excellence (OSSCE) standards in the delivery of tasks.
- Utilise planning controls to ensure targets such schedule adherence, rig performance / downtime and similar KPI’s are tracked to delivery daily management meetings.
- Coordinate activities and metrics around batch release to enable clear communication to leadership and escalation if required.
- Ensure that planning is fully embedded within all parts of the Large Molecule organisation.
- Embed and identify new CI opportunities to maximise Operations efficiency.
- Identify best practice for planning in terms of ways of working.
- Support the annual Strategic Planning Exercise (SPE) by generating credible production scenarios and evaluate the impact on product supply.
- Support monthly R&OP meetings.
Prerequisites:
- +3 years of working in Biotech industry
- Planning / Scheduling experience preferred
- Project Management experience / Proven delivery of cross functional projects
Desirable Attributes
- SAP Experience
- RTMS / BioG experience desirable
Educational Requirements:
- Hons Degree in relevant discipline with 3+ years biotech experience
