Blood Collection Coordinator, Donor Services, 1.0 hours varied.
Job description
Responsible for achieving annual blood collection goals in a cost effective and efficient manner.
Develops effective and innovative programs to encourage blood donations from employees, general public, friends, and families of friends.
Identifies and applies appropriate methods to ensure efficient scheduling of blood mobiles/ special events with all satellite sites to meet weekly and monthly collection goals.
Schedules donor and autologus appointments, screens donors for eligibility, registers accepted donors, and maintains donor records.
Assists with all facets of a blood drive to ensure efficient and proper handling of donors and blood component units.
Maintains accurate records to provide tracking and statistical data on donor/ group performance.
Maintains work area in a safe, aseptic and organized manner.
Performs quality control and corrective preventative maintenance on equipment, instruments, and products.
Maintains supply inventory.
Minimum Education
High school diploma or equivalent
Associate's degree (Preferred)
- Years of relevant experience may be substituted for required education.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

1 year donor service experience (Preferred)
1 year public Relations experience (Preferred)
