Business Intelligence Manager


YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES



The primary responsibilities of this role, Business Intelligence Manager, are:

  • Manager of a team of Business Intelligence & Data engineers and developers in the day to day job performance of their jobs;
  • Manages both contingent labor and full time employees;
  • Demonstrates senior level leadership skills and experience in guiding the team to build sustainable insights;
  • Partners with function leaders to understand business drivers, understand and communicate limitations and capabilities of the data, and define appropriate solutions;
  • Manages a portfolio of work from small projects to individual one time requests, working with stakeholders to set priority, assigning appropriate resources, and managing team workload;
  • Delivers data quickly with local solutions as needed, while also driving the migration of BI Data Team solutions into IT systems when appropriate;
  • Guides priorities for data warehouse enhancements;
  • Develops guidelines and guides team members in leading practice approaches for the collection, calculation, visualization and delivery of data solutions;
  • Influences the organization to build a data centric mindset, from building data acumen to improving data quality;
  • Contributes to all phases of data projects; understanding the requirements, finding, building and validating data to presenting the data in an actionable format;
  • Leads internal process improvements: automating manual processes, optimizing data delivery, creating self service tools, identifying and driving improvements IT managed data;
  • Liaise with other teams engaged in data centric projects, ranging from function specific to cross functional and global efforts related to both business intelligence and data capture improvements;
  • Identify inter-related dependencies between global and hub specific projects thatmay impact reporting data.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelors Degree; Business Intelligence, Data Science, Computer Science, or related;
  • Experienced people manager, or equivalent experience within direct people leadership;
  • Experience working with data (e.g., Finance, DataWarehousing, Data Analytics); direct experience in the Business Intelligence field required; Ag Industry and/or supply chain knowledge strongly preferred;
  • Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem solving skills in the data and business process arenas;
  • Collaborative team focused delivery experience;
  • Very strong communication skills with senior levels of business leadership;
  • Experience leveraging one or more tools in the Business Intelligence space (e.g., Tableau, SAP Business Objects Webi, Web FOCUS,QlikView, Microsoft BI, Microstrategy, Cognos, Alteryx, Paxata,Trifacta, Informatica, Talend, Ascential).

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 8+ years of experience working with data (e.g., Finance, DataWarehousing, Data Analytics); direct experience in the Business Intelligence field required; Ag Industry and/or supply chain knowledge strongly preferred.
