Calibration Technician III

Hours: M-F 7am – 3:30pm (flexible)
About the role:
Tests, calibrates, adjusts, and maintains electromechanical, mechanical, pneumatic, hydro mechanical, and pressure-type measuring and indicating instruments. Sets up calibration sequences, methods and procedures according to detailed specifications, drawings, and requirements.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Ensuring scheduled calibrations are performed within the calibration and R&D laboratories in a timely manner, in accordance with regulatory and quality requirements.
- Developing calibration methods and facilitating continuous improvement efforts within the department.
- Reviewing equipment calibration specifications.
- Providing guidance to others within the laboratory in appropriate measurement technique and standard selection.
- Providing timely verbal and written communications to equipment owners and using departments.
- Following standard calibration procedures per Calibration SOP’s.
- Interpreting records and verifying test data, comparing to known standards and criteria.
- Maintaining records within the calibration system.
- Troubleshooting equipment and completing unscheduled calibrations as needed.
- Identifying and correcting errors in procedures for calibration of T&ME.
- Checking equipment into and out of the calibration management system.
- Coordinating vendor off-site calibrations by contacting approved vendors, obtaining RMAs, creating eREQs and purchase orders, documenting calibration requirements, packaging equipment, and shipping to vendors. Receiving and processing calibration records upon equipment return.
- Coordinating vendor on-site calibrations by scheduling equipment access with equipment owners and aligning with vendor availability. Creating eREQs and purchase orders and documenting calibration requirements. Receiving and processing calibration records upon calibration completion.
- Performing quality assurance review of completed calibrations.
- Communicating calibration status with equipment owning departments.
Required qualifications:
- High school diploma
- 1-3 years of equivalent work experience in calibration
- Customer service focused
- Quality mindset, with attention to detail
- A.S. in Technical Field
- Experience with Blue Mountain Regulatory Asset Manager (BMRAM)
- Clear communicator (verbal and written)
- Experience with working with vendors to coordinate calibration services
- Self-motivated and strong work ethic
- Experience working within FDA-regulated medical device / pharmaceutical industry
- Proficient in Microsoft Office packages
- Able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds occasionally, to access and handle equipment
