Warner University, an evangelical Christian University in central Florida, is seeking application for one (1) full-time athletic trainer. This position is a 12-month position. Warner University supports an NAIA athletic program of 20 sports. Warner University participates in the Sun Conference. The athletic training staff will consist of six (6) full-time athletic trainers.

The position of full-time athletic trainer works under the supervision of the head athletic trainer and team physician. The athletic trainer supervises the care of student athletes competing in the Warner University athletic program.

Sport assignments will be listed below:

Football, Men’s Volleyball

Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

· Supportive of Warner’s mission, vision and core values, commitment to a Christian lifestyle, and demonstration of character in keeping with biblical models

· The athletic trainer is expected to affirm, model, and cultivate the Christ-centered mission of Warner University and the Athletic Department.

· Onsite care and management of injuries and illnesses including: prevention, evaluation, management and rehabilitation

· Assess risk of injury, perform ergonomic evaluation and coaching, self-care implementation and overall wellness promotion.

· Electronic documentation of all patient encounters.

· Coordinate and implement injury prevention programs and customized preventative strategies and programs to each patient.

· Minimize risk of injury through awareness, education and prevention strategies.

· Provide accommodation recommendations, related to sport, for student athletes with restrictions or limitations.

· Communicate with physicians and coaching staff regarding the injury status of athletes.

· Carry out medical care for assigned student-athletes per the sports medicine standard operating procedures.

· Responsible for administrative and other duties as assigned by the head athletic trainer.

Minimum Qualifications

· Graduated from an accredited program

· Certified Athletic Trainer as designated by the Board of Certification

· Florida State Licensure (or eligible)

· Current CPR/AED and First Aid certification

· Valid driver’s license with no restrictions

Compensation and Benefits

· Licensure dues will be covered

· ~800 dollars towards CEU’s yearly
