Job description
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot chillers and refrigeration systems and associated support equipment with master-level capability. Provide technical knowledge and leadership regarding chilled water distribution system operation and maintenance. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: Facilities staff, building staff, vendors/suppliers, contractors/subcontractors, engineers, and environmental health and safety personnel. This position typically will advise and counsel: other facilities staff. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
Job Duty 1 -
Complete operational, maintenance, and troubleshooting functions of chillers and refrigeration systems (to include, but not limited to chillers, cooling towers, pumps, valves, controls, etc.) and associated support equipment.
Job Duty 2 -
Test and troubleshoot components of pneumatic and electronic control systems and natural gas and/or propane burner and supply system.
Job Duty 3 -
Operate, inspect, clean, and maintain components of air compressor system.
Job Duty 4 -
Requisition supplies and materials.
Job Duty 5 -
Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma
Required Experience
Sixt to eight years of job related experience
Preferred Qualifications
Additional Preferred Qualifications
An advanced State of Georgia HVAC License and/or advanced boiler operator or inspector license; formal verifiable training programs (ie-Union License) in a related field
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Technical Diploma, Associate's Degree or two years college course work
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
SKILLS
This job requires master-level knowledge and skills required to operate; clean, inspect, adjust, maintain, repair, replace, calibrate, test and troubleshoot chiller/refrigeration systems and associated piping systems. These skills should be Intermediate-level for all HVAC equipment with associated support systems
