Department Summary
HSC Health is the academic clinical practice for the Health Science Center. Focused on improving health outcomes to build a healthier community. HSC Health primary and multispecialty care clinics are located on the HSC campus in Fort Worth. Our care teams extend to local hospitals, surgery centers, long-term and continuing care centers, and mobile and in-home care. HSC Health’s interprofessional teams work collaboratively to achieve an optimized treatment plan tailored to the individual patient. Physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, physical therapists, pharmacists, social workers, psychologists, specialized technicians, and nurses work together while intentionally integrating health care students, residents, and fellows to deliver care to our community.

Position Overview
HSC Health is seeking a Clinic Operations Manager or Clinic Operations Nursing Manager who will be responsible for day-to-day supervision of the Pediatric Department, and to ensure quality of indirect and direct care delivered to patients within all areas of Pediatric Care delivery. The manager will report to the Director of Clinical Operations and work in partnership with the Chief Nursing Officer to coordinate clinical operations within the HSC Health Pediatric Clinic.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Business administration, nursing, or other closely related field and five (5) years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Communication and Language Skills: Ability to listen, understand, and assimilate a variety of information. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret contracts, regulations, and reports.
  • Mathematical Ability: Ability to apply concepts and trend analysis to practical situations.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practice problems and to deal effectively with a variety of variables. Ability to interpret a variety on instructions, rules, and regulations furnished in written, oral, diagram, and schedule form.
  • Other Skills and Abilities: Computer literate with the ability to use Microsoft Office; NexGen knowledge preferred.

Preferred Qualifications
CPR certified, NextGen experience, nursing (LVN/RN) licensure, management and/or nursing experience

Job Duties

o
Responsible for hiring, discipline, conflict-resolution, and evaluations for clinical staff and other associated human resources functions for all employees directly supervised. Clearly communicates with staff and leadership. Process/Continuous Improvement: Actively lead and participate in
both department and clinic redesign activities to ensure the highest standards of behavior and performance are met. Ensures compliance with all HSC Health/HSC policies and procedures.

o
Assists providers and senior management in establishing and implementing, productivity and performance goals for all employees directly supervised, as requested or assigned. Sets the clinic tone and example for all operational processes. Responsible for the effective oversight of
patient flow and management of all patient scheduling and tracking. This position requires on site work only.

o
Serves as the key problem-solving and conflict resource for patient, provider, and staff complaints for areas of concern, in conjunction with theDirector of Clinical Operations, Chief Nursing Officer, and/or other members of the leadership team. Perform other duties as assigned to meet the
ongoing needs of the Department/Clinic.

o
Coordinate department and clinic communication-focused activities, including monthly staff meetings, regular and frequent leadership meetings, including meetings with SVP of Health System Finance, Director of Clinical Operations, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Officer, and/or other
members of the leadership team.

o
Financial Reporting and Documenting: Analyze or assist with the analysis of financial indicators, billing, reimbursement, and coding, and coordination to ensure budget is adhered to and revenue is maximized. Assist with the HSC Health budget preparation; Manage clinical business
contracts, purchasing, and supplies; Understands, develops, tracks, and recommends staffing models.

Deliver culturally competent care that respects each patients individual beliefs.

Other duties as assigned.
