Job Summary
The Cobol Developer the role /position will support the Legacy Replacement Project effort by working with vendors and team to address any required deployment using CI/CD tools, it associated processes and management.
Candidates must meet the requirements in Sections A.1 and A.2 to be considered for the Cobol Developer. See Section D.2 for more information concerning Evaluation Criteria.

Technical Skills:

o Minimum of five (5) years of recent experience developing applications using COBOL
for CICS and batch programs.
o Superior proficiency with mainframe applications built with JCL, COBOL and CICS.
o Experience working with VSAM files and DB2, integrating existing designs with new
requirements.
o Strong experience developing in Mainframe environment resolving complex and
conflicting design issues.

Preferred:
o Experience developing applications in IBM VSE mainframe environment.
o Experience working with stored procedures and SQL in MS SQL 2005 or above.
o Quick job utility language experience.
o Experience developing applications in REXX.
o Experience developing applications in IBM VSE mainframe environment.
o Experience working with stored procedures and SQL in MS SQL 2005 or above.

Requirements:
o Excellent analytical, problem solving, and information gathering skills along with
fundamental technique troubleshooting abilities.
o Strong SQL knowledge working with complex queries and stored procedures.
o Proficiency in LINUX Shell scripting, C#, and VB.NET
o Proficiency in SSRS reports’ development and administration.
o Strong analytical skills demonstrated by the ability to receive and analyze requirements
and propose a suitable solution that adheres to the team’s methodology.
o Ability to work in multiple environments: IBM Mainframe, Windows Server, and SQL
Server.
o Proficiency in mainframe applications encompassing COBOL and CICS.
o Proficiency in Control-M creating Jobs, Smart Folders, Schedules with complex
interdependencies.
o Understanding of data structures and their relationship to ETL applications.
o Ability to quickly understand complex mainframe systems.
o Exceptional presentation and organizational skills.
o High written and oral communication skills.

Assumptions Regarding Consultant Tasks and Deliverables
The developers shall provide application design and development consultant services for the completion of ongoing business process improvement program. The following descriptions and deliverables shall apply:

• Role: Developing applications in a Mainframe environment with integration to distributed environment resolving complex and conflicting design issues.
• Objective: To analyze and improve existing business processes with application automation where possible.
• Deliverables: The developers are responsible for the following:
• Analyze business requirements and design applications. Modify applications improving the existing business processes. Execute cleanups from production data analysis. Monitor various system processes as assigned. Ensure complete and accurate issue tracking and reporting.

Escalate production timelines to meet client requests. Identify production issues impacting code modules.
