ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW:
Healthy Little Havana (HLH) aspires to create a health-supportive neighborhood where all Little Havana residents can thrive. Our mission is to support and advocate for efforts that strengthen Miami's Little Havana neighborhood by focusing on the social determinants of health. Based on our Community Action Plan (CAP), our activities are separated into the following four health priority areas: education to employment, public space, healthcare access, and housing. POSITION OVERVIEW:
In order for Healthy Little Havana to achieve its ambitious mission, a dynamic and detail-oriented coordinator is required. The Collective Impact Coordinator is a newly-created position designed to address this organizational need. The Collective Impact Coordinator will be part of a small team responsible for driving Healthy Little Havana’s work forward, in particular supporting day-to-day communications, day-to-day administration, community engagement, and data functions.
This is a full-time position where the number of hours needed to complete tasks may fluctuate depending on project and initiative demands. While there will be some on-site or on-the-field hours required, there is significant flexibility to work virtually and to set your own schedule. Compensation will be commensurate with experience and could include benefits such as health, insurance, vacation, sick, and holiday paid time off.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Collective Impact Coordinator will provide day-to-day support and facilitation of Healthy Little Havana’s effort. Key responsibilities include:
Primary Functions
Working with community partners:
- Developing and maintaining a list of community partners and upcoming events;
- Organizing outreach against that list of community partners and upcoming events; including following-up as needed;
- Coordinating research and other activities with initiative partners to minimize redundancies and to align strategies and actions, including conducting individual outreach and education as needed;
- Working with Program Manager to coordinate with other related projects and coalitions (i.e. in the same field) to maintain a full understanding of the current landscape of local and regional activities, and integrating their work into Steering Committee and workgroup processes;
- Securing letters of support from elected officials and community partners; and
- Building and maintaining relationships with community partners.
Strategic coherence:
- Maintaining understanding of current implementation challenges and developing comprehensive solutions to address them;
- Developing, maintaining, and monitoring set of pending and potential legislative and policy priorities, to support Committee development of annual legislative agenda, policy and funding recommendations;
- In partnership with Program Manager providing support to partner organizations in aligning their work to the Community Action Plan(e.g., identifying opportunities for program work to support specific goals);
- In partnership with Program Manager, acting as a neutral arbiter and helping resolve disputes or disagreements in direction among workgroups and Steering Committee; and
- Coordinating advocacy supporting activities of partners
- Developing and assisting in the delivery of presentations to varied audiences and in the preparation of reports.
Communications:
- Communicating the objectives of Healthy Little Havana to the community and potential partners, including sharing the Community Action Plan, theory of change, or other collateral;
- Facilitating ongoing communication between Healthy Little Havana partners by hosting regular conference calls, in-person meetings, or coordinating regular email updates to ensure alignment of activity;
- Planning and managing logistics of, and attending, community events;
- Creating or managing creation of yearly summary reports ofHealthy Little Havana progress for Board of Directors, SubCommittees, and external audiences; and
- The following duties may be done in coordination with a communications consultant or Program Manager:
1. Developing communications materials as Healthy Little Havana evolves,
potentially including summary documents, brochures, FAQs, and other items;
2. Developing web and social media strategy;
3. Compiling and maintaining list of press clippings; and
4. Creating press strategy, including drafting press releases, coordinating with
media outlets.
Fund development and management:
- Working with Program Manager to identify potential funding sources to support Healthy Little Havana’s goals and priorities:
1, Writing grants, as needed
2. Working with implementing agencies to provide information to support their
grant applications
3. Coordinating Healthy Little Havana grant reporting to funders as required
- Tracking all Healthy Little Havana funding, including allocated funds from partner organization
Data collection, analysis, and reporting:
- Coordinating indicator refinement with SubCommittees and workgroups for the Community Action Plan;
- Collecting data from internal and external sources, compiling data into a digestible format, and analyzing data.
- Working with Program Manager to ensure all partners are aware of targets and indicators;
- Creating or managing creation of yearly summary reports of Healthy Little Havana progress for the Health Director, Sub Committee, and external audiences;

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
This is an outstanding opportunity to play a critical role in advancing health equity in Little Havana through the social determinants of health. Therefore, first and foremost, the Collective Impact Coordinator must be committed to the mission of Healthy Little Havana. Additionally, the successful candidate will be able to demonstrate:
- Bachelor’s Degree in public health or a related field
- Two (2) years work experience including one (1) or more years of proven community outreach and coordination experience
- Or an equivalent combination of education, certification, training, and/or experience
- Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with senior executives;
- The presence to inspire confidence and passion in external audiences and to build effective relationships with a range of stakeholders;
- Advanced project management skills;
- Ability to thrive in a fluid, unstructured, entrepreneurial environment without formal training;
- Flexibility and the ability to work autonomously as well as take direction as needed;
- Commitment to the collective impact concepts;
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills;
- Strong community engagement and facilitation skills;
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and oral);
- Experience fundraising or grant writing (optional); and
- Existing relationships with, or ability to build relationships with, a cross-sectoral range of stakeholders in the local or regional area, including senior executives.
- Advanced Skill Level of Knowledge in:
- Computers (Google Suite/Microsoft Office)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Advanced Skill level of social media: Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, Linkedin
Desired Qualifications
- Familiarity with the local area and / or focus of the initiative (e.g. public health)
- Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written).
- Experience in working in nonprofit organizations
- Experience with grant management and support
- Advanced skill level of knowledge in Google Suite, Asana, and other digital and project platforms
COMPENSATION
- Salary range for this position is $40,000 - $62,000. Starting pay is commensurate with experience.
