Mark Young Construction, LLC (MYC) has an excellent opportunity for Commercial Service Carpenters to join us as we continue to grow!
The Service Carpenter/Special Projects Carpenter works closely with Owners, Owner Management, Superintendents, Engineers, and others on his/her team. A Service Carpenter performs and completes a variety of tasks and projects ranging in duration from a part of a day to multiple weeks.
**Must be able to work nights as needed**
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Communicates with clients, owners, owner representatives before the job starts, during the job, and after the job is complete.
- Works with other MYC personnel as well as external subcontractors on small construction projects within the Service and Maintenance operations at MYC.
- Prioritizes and meets scheduled deadlines on projects
- Layout
- Completion of daily construction reports, timecards, monthly equipment reporting, weekly safety meetings, tool inventory,
- Understands and completes delivery ticket process, short interval schedules, job close out
- Can perform minor remodel, tenant improvements
- Tasks and Activities may include (but are not limited to) setting doors, door frames, door sweeps, door hardware, weather stripping, millwork installation, millwork repair, installing shelving, repairing toilet partitions, resilient floor tile, base repair and installation, ceramic tile base repair and installation, sheetrock finish, repair and installation, Metal and wood wall ceiling framing, remove/replace plastic laminate, concrete flatwork and formwork, removal and replacement of concrete, mason repair, finish carpentry, pallet racking, bollard installation, FRP installation and repair, caulking sealant installation, painting and touch up
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Pass Background check, drug test, and OSHA 10 Hour
- Ability to drive company vehicle based on MYC insurance requirements or equivalent
- Ability to attain safety training certificates/cards for equipment
- Ability to use all jobsite equipment
- Own basic tools
- Ability to work with other trades
- Ability to perform work to MYC standards
- Ability to work night shift, out of town, and occasional weekend shifts
