The role is primarily responsible for the following:

• Expected to be agile and adaptable to interface and provide value across a continuum of both Internal and External Stakeholders (Healthcare professionals within assigned geography/therapy area) in a non-promotional manner and be responsive to unsolicited inquires.
• Be the scientific expert for HIV treatment and prevention in the assigned geography to conduct balanced, peer-to-peer, scientific dialogue with external experts, advanced practice practitioners and patients
• To respond orally or by providing appropriate written materials to unsolicited requests for on- or off-label information or safety concerns that may have been asked of internal stakeholders and adhering to all policies and procedures regarding the provision of medical information
• To gain valuable insight and feedback from the healthcare community on ViiV products and services, development and service provision to benefit ViiV’s customers and patients
• To work collaboratively with diverse internal stakeholders to provide regional scientific support for the commercial organization.
• Contribute in a manner that is always consistent with GSK/ViiV Values and expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work within the Medical Affairs organization to identify and continually evaluate potential allied health care professionals in their assigned geographic regions and design and execute a tactical plan
• Engage and Educate Community based organization (CBO) patient groups, CBO professionals such as case managers, advance practice providers and HCPs on approved Disease State and Branded programs.
• Deliver injection education for research sites and staff and post-launch for approved products
• Identify insights (mVOC) of health professionals and patients surrounding ViiV’s product awareness, treatment and prevention of HIV and gaps in educational topics and support materials.
• Communicate reactively with managers, peers, stakeholders, and Patient Organizations
  Clinical Support for both Patient Affairs & Community Activities
• Respond to unsolicited information requests from healthcare professionals and associated individuals regarding licensed or un-licensed ViiV medicines and indications; ensure all medical information responses are factual, fair and balanced, scientifically rigorous and strictly comply with GSK/ViiV standards and policies and with local codes of practice, guidelines and laws to ensure the strictest requirements are met.
• Disseminate important safety information to healthcare professionals as directed by the Medical Affairs or Research and Development teams
• Maintain expertise in the evolving HIV landscape.
• Attend both scientific/medical meetings to gain medical voice of the customer on recent data being presented on products and disease states of interest to ViiV
• May facilitate, present at, or otherwise participate in VHL sponsored Advisory Boards.
• Provide scientific training for ViiV sales representatives regarding ViiV products and the conditions they treat utilizing approved Sales Training materials as needed

Job Related Experience

• Previous clinical experience in situations where direct/or indirect decision-making authority for patient care was demonstrated (e.g. direct patient care, treatment protocol development, traditional clinical practice settings)
• Above average computer literacy, including experience with software applications
• Proven ability to perform both independently and as a member of a team
• Displays Business acumen including problem solving, active listening, and independent decision making

We are looking for professionals with these required skills to achieve our goals

• RN, PA/NP (open to RPh, PharmD)
• Relevant clinical experience in HIV/AIDS required.
• Evidence of established, strong communication and training/educator/presentation skills.
• Strong technical skills.

Preferred qualifications:

If you have the following characteristics, it would be a plus:

• 2 years clinical treatment experience
• Injection education experience is preferred.
• Previous Pharmaceutical / Biopharmaceutical industry experience is preferred.
• Spanish Speaking preferred.
