YOUR ROLE
This Head of Total Rewards for North America role will focus on building a best-in-class Compensation & Benefits group that designs, integrates, brands and implements innovative total rewards programs across the entire region. You must have strong global knowledge of the financial and accounting implications of benefit plans and demonstrated compensation philosophy including policy, procedures and program implementation; ability to present competitive market and industry trends; manage all wage, salary, short and long term incentive policies and practices; and provide guidance on executive compensation to senior management.

Benefits Responsibilities
- Work with CEVA’s senior executive and HR leadership to establish the benefits strategy and align programs, practices, and policies in alignment with corporate objectives.
- Direct the development, implementation and administration of all health and welfare benefit plans including communications, training and system modifications. Ensure that benefit plans support corporate strategies as well as remain in compliance with government regulations.
- Builds the competence of the Benefits function through staff development and leveraging expertise and competence of vendors to maximize CEVA’s internal efficiencies and customer service goals.
- Collaborate with CEVA’s legal department to mitigate risk, maintain government compliance, deliver on fiduciary responsibility and respond to litigation strategy requests.
- Serve as chairman of the Investment Committee for the CEVA retirement plans.
- Directs the implementation of changes of CEVA’s benefit plans which include:
- Develops and recommends new, improved and/or changes to the benefits program
- Implement cost effective alternatives to support and enhance the company’s benefits programs
- Collaborate and coordinate with HR team to manage the administration of all corporate benefit programs. Collaborate with Director of Benefits to procure and manage external relationships with vendors
- Assess and manage the impact of benefit plan changes on projected costs, other benefit plans and government compliance
- Direct the implementation of benefit plan changes utilizing impeccable execution standards.
- Lead the annual benefits enrolment process
- Lead the research and analysis for benefit appeals and make decisions on exceptions to policies
- Manage complex cases, usually involving appeals and litigation
- Chairs the Benefits Appeals Committee
- Collaborate with the legal department, Finance, Payroll and senior management in the development of processes to enhance the efficiency and successful implementation and management of all benefit plans
- Vast network and knowledge of current competitive research and studies; applies learnings and best practices
- Coaches and develops subordinates, conducts performance evaluations, and recommends salary increases and incentive compensation. Creates a healthy, productive service-oriented work environment
- Ensure impeccable customer service to all customers
- Work with consultants, vendors, staff, senior management and other partners to develop a team strategy in developing CEVA’s benefit plan offerings
Compensation Responsibilities
- Thorough knowledge of compensation principles, pay practices, and executive compensation trends required. Must be knowledgeable in all regulatory, tax, accounting and financial implications of compensation plan design, including equity programs and executive compensation. Must be comfortable in a constantly changing and challenging working environment, must be flexible and able to change directions at a moments notice.
- Partner with senior management, SVP of Human Resources, SVP Global Reward and other HR functions within the organization. This role also is a liaison with the Financial and Legal departments.
- Overall compensation program design, alignment to CEVA global reward principles and communication and presentation to Management; overall wage and salary administration; incentive compensation design and administration. Partner with SVP Global Reward on compensation strategy, design and policy implementation; performance management design and administration
- Partner with HR Managers in the strategic development, design and rollout of all compensation programs communications to include training of HR and Business partners in the use of these programs to motivate and development CEVA’s employee population.
- Ensure that CEVA’s compensation plans, programs and policies are competitive, cost effective and, most importantly, aligned with and supportive of the organization’s overall business strategy.
- Key contributor for the management of CEVA’s Total Rewards Programs and their effectiveness with respect to the attraction, retention and development of CEVA’s employees.
- Ensure that CEVA’s compensation programs are consistent with individual performance planning, appraisal and rewards at every level of the organization.
- While the tactical effectiveness and administration of CEVA’s various plans is an important skill, the Vice President will also need to be strategic and comfortable providing creative solutions that are fully aligned with CEVA’s aggressive growth goals.
- This individual will have strong influence over CEVA’s initiatives to reengineer and improve HR processes while working with the HR Business Partners.
Payroll Responsibilities
- Directs management of payroll and timekeeping software, including strategic development and maintenance activities, but not limited to, implementation of and/or execution of global system requirements, automation of manual processes, and preparation of project plan for upgrades and conversions in order to recommend and implement changes leading to best-practice operations.
- Develops continuous strategic process improvements to maintain the quality, efficiency and overall effectiveness of the payroll functions and system of internal controls, to increase accuracy and decrease risk of fraud and errors. Collaborates with all HR & Operations functions to provide seamless, efficient and consistent payroll processes, which follow all company policies.
- Oversees management of the Payroll and HR budget and assists in the coordination of the budgeting process with Finance.
- Comply with federal, state and local taxing authority requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions; analyzing impact on payroll system.
- Coaches and develops payroll staff, conducts performance evaluations, and recommends salary increases. Leads a service-oriented work environment.
- Coordinates with external and internal resources to manage the global reporting for expatriate associates.
WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Education and Experience:
- Bachelors Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or related field required.
- CCP (Certified Compensation Professional) through the World-at-work (American Compensation Association)
- CEBS (Certified Employee Benefits Specialist) strongly preferred.
- SPHR/PHR certification, preferred.
- MBA or Masters Degree in related field preferred.
- 15+ years experience in C&B strategy, design and administration
- Domestic and international compensation experience
- At least 10 years as a manager in a large, complex and diverse organization
- Minimum of 10-15 years payroll and payroll tax experience in a global, multi-company, multi-state and multi-jurisdiction environment.
Skills:
- Advanced proficiency level in Microsoft Office – all applications including internet, web-based and specific job related software applications.
- Knowledge of classification values and job evaluation and training, including providing effective techniques in classifying positions
- Have knowledge of state and federal regulations as well as benefit rules and regulations
- Know benefits analysis techniques through computer based systems
- Excellent problem solving skills involving sensitive issues.
- Extensive experience in the analysis, evaluation, design, development, and implementation of comprehensive compensation programs including salary management, incentives, bonus, sales compensation and performance management.
Characteristics:
- Ability to communicate both speaking and in writing with high level management with multi-functional and diverse backgrounds in order to influence and effect policy.
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from management, employees and vendors.
