RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Senior Configuration Management Specialist supports deployment-related activities within a cloud-based environment. This is a hands-on role, that will require implementation of configuration changes within a cloud-based environment, as well as an educational role to support product teams as they usher their products through the CI/CD pipeline to Production release.

The Deployment Manager will develop and configure a standard set of requirements and processes to be used by individual product teams to properly deploy and configure components with the established PaaS environment.

Daily activities include: processing and tracking of change requests submitted by customers within established service-level agreements, status accounting and reporting of metrics; use of Atlassian tools (JIRA, BitBucket, Confluence) to complete daily taskings and support the daily operation of Change Control Board (CCB); and work with customers, subject matter experts and systems engineers to complete requirements gathering for change requests. Additionally, the Deployment Manager will develop educational material to support implementation and execution of CM processes.

You will facilitate the configuration management process while providing excellent customer service. This role will require interacting with government and contractor customers to understand their immediate DevSecOps requirements and developing a timeline to address their needs. As a subject matter expert in configuration management, the Deployment Manager will also: prepare for and support process assessments and change control audits, as required; and recommend and implement new technology/enhancements to configuration management processes and/or configuration management tools.

This position is open to remote delivery anywhere within the U.S., to include the District of Columbia.

Standard support hours are between 7am to 9pm EST. This work will include on-call support during weekends, holidays, or off-hours, as required.

QUALIFICATIONS:

- Ten-years’ IT Operations processes experience

- Seven-years’ experience with configuration management processes that includes change control board management, change request management, and status accounting and reporting

- Three-years’ experience leading/mentoring others in Change/Configuration management activities

- Experience in the automation deployment of software pipelines for development, test, and production in a cloud environment like AWS and Azure

- Experience with DevOps tools (like Jenkins, SonarQube, and Consul) and Container Technologies (like Docker and Kubernetes)

- Experience with performing operational and day-to-day administrative support functions including support of change requests

- Experience with administration of Atlassian tools, including management of project permissions, field configuration schemes, workflows, and screen schemes

- Knowledge and ability to analyze data and generate reports showing trends, issues and areas for improvement

- Ability to work collaboratively within a team and negotiate requests to meet organizational goals and customer requests in a timely manner while providing excellent oral and written communications to translate technical terminology for stakeholders are various levels

- Ability to obtain a security clearance

EDUCATION:

- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent with ten-years’ professional experience or a total of eighteen-years’ professional experience in lieu of education.
