POSITION SUMMARY: We are seeking a dynamic, authentic, passionate person with a strong desire to empower the voice of family childcare providers through Town Square, advancing the organizational mission. Town Square is an online learning community for family childcare providers, initially created for the state of Illinois and now expanded to Indiana, Wisconsin, and the city of Philadelphia. The Town Square content coordinator will aid in the daily operations of Town Square, including vetting, and creating content. A strong focus on diversity, equity, inclusion, and a desire to advance Erikson’s mission of serving young children and their families is essential for success in the role. This is a part-time grant funded position. If the funds from the grant are no longer available, this position may be terminated.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
- Curate content for Town Square sites: Explore already created resources for Family childcare to add to the Town Square site. Including making sure all terms of usage for the resource and site.
- Provide tech support to Town Square users: Respond to user requests and troubleshoot user difficulties as necessary.
- Manage Town Square’s social media presence: Regularly post to the Town Square Facebook page to drive people to the Town Square sites and connect with Erikson’s social media posts as relevant.
- Maintain, catalog and update website content: Keywords, featured images, links. Etc.
- Focus upon and ensure development of resources and content aligns with the organization’s DEI values are supported and that there is a broad focus on engaging our many constituencies through this work
- Internal meeting attendance: Meet with project co-directors and senior project manager weekly and attend other relevant Erikson staff meetings.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Bachelor’s degree in early childhood education, child development, or related field.
- Experience working with media and technology and/or managing a website.
- Detail oriented and organized.
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings or weekends.
- Experience working with young children (0-8) in a range of settings preferred.
- Familiarity with creating content or curriculum aligned to standards.
- Spanish translating ability (written and verbal).
