Sterling Crane LLC: Founded in 1954, Sterling Crane has been one of North America’s premier leaders in the heavy lift industry offering operated and bare rentals, sales, parts, and unparalleled service to all our customers. We boast one of the largest inventories of modern lifting equipment in North America, in excess of 1000 units. With an increase in recent demand, we are in need of a Senior Accountant (1 Year Contract - March 2024) in our HQ Thornton, CO.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations and ad-hoc tasks as required.
• Work with administration and location leadership teams to report accurate periodic financial results and investigate queries as they arise.
• Coordinate monthly/periodic key deliverables to ensure timely and accurate completion.
• Assist with monthly and quarterly financial close processes.
• Assist in developing, improving, and communicating company financial standards and policies.
• Assist with strategic corporate initiatives and projects.
• Maintain balance sheet accounts and associated schedules and provide monthly detail to the Controller for General Journal entries (expense allocations, monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, fixed assets, including recording entries, adjusting and reclassification entries if necessary)
• Oversee purchase card program
• Special projects as required

Qualifications & Skills

• BA or BS Accounting; CPA or CPA candidate a plus (preferred)
• 5+ of progressive accounting experience including financial analysis
• Business acumen with strong knowledge and understanding of GAAP
• Experience using Microsoft PowerBI or similar reporting suites desired
• Knowledge of JD Edwards Enterprise One and/or Microsoft Dynamics ERP systems preferred
• Experience assisting in implementing key financial systems (eg. ERP systems) preferred
• Strong experience with Microsoft Office suite of applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Physical Requirements

• Salaried position with hours mainly Mon-Fri, 8am-5pm. Some evenings and weekends may be required. Required in office, minimum three days a week, subject to change to adjust to business demand.
• Manual dexterity, auditory and visual acuity to operate computers, phones, mobile devices and basic office equipment on a constant basis
• Ability to work for extended periods of time sitting, bending, reaching, and speaking on a constant basis.
• 90 day in office trial period.

Salary: 80k-85k DOE
