Our exclusive partner just south of Syracuse is seeking a Controller to join their growing team. This group is a prominent organization here in the Syracuse Area that is seeking an individual with a strong manufacturing background and proven cost accounting, operations, and FP&A experience.

The Controller will have a high level of autonomy and P&L ownership of the $30M manufacturing operation. They will work closely with the Corporate Controller & GM evaluating current processes, identifying room for improvements, and strategic insight for future business decisions. This person will oversee a small team of 2-3 individuals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide on-site financial control to all aspects of the plant
• Participate in corporate strategic planning process
• Prepare month end financial reporting packages
• Depreciation rates
• Prepare reports that summarize business activity and financial position
• Develop appropriate cost accounting procedures to correctly monitor the performance of the business
• Seek out profit improvement opportunities with a focus on cost drivers like direct labor, direct material, overhead
• Ensure proper inventory process flows and controls
• Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

• 4-5 years' experience working in a manufacturing environment
• 3-5 years of financial leadership experience preferred but not required
• Experience with budgeting, forecasting and long range planning for manufacturing operations preferred
• Proficient in cost accounting and fixed assets
• Familiarity working with banks and financial institutions
• Tech savviness – ability to quickly learn new systems/tools
• Demonstrated knowledge of GAAP

REQUIRED EDUCATION AND/OR CREDENTIALS:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required
• Master’s Degree or CPA preferred but not required
• Capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Integrity and ability to build trust amongst team and external customers

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $100,000.00 - $130,000.00 per year
