Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Be part of a development team responsible for the development, testing and qualifying of engine control and monitoring software.
- Ensure that all delivered products meet all program requirements.
- You may be involved at any stage of a project lifecycle including the initial brief for a concept, the design and development stage, testing and verification.
- Work in project teams with colleagues in other branches of engineering.
Education/Experience
- 8-10 years or more of experience, extensive aerospace knowledge, and previous work with DO certification standards.
- Bachelor's degree in STEM discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Physics) with 6+ years of experience in Software design, OR
- Master's degree in STEM discipline (Engineering, Chemistry, Computer Science, Information Technology, Mathematics, or Physics) with 4+ years of experience in Software design, OR
- JD/PhD in Science, Technology, Engineering or Business Management
Qualifications : The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills, and/or abilities required.
- 3+ years’ experience in embedded safety critical software engineering preferred.
- Experience in embedded Ada software development preferred.
- Familiarity with Model based software design preferred.
- Use a DO-178 compliant software coding process.
- Control systems experience preferred.
- Digital logic design experience preferred.
- Familiar with verification and testing frameworks.
- Familiar with working in agile software development teams
- Desire to successfully work in a team environment, establishing collaborative relationships with coworkers.
- Current (or ability to obtain/maintain) US DOD Secret or Top Secret security Clearance
- Ability to present technical data to senior engineers and management.
- Strong development experience
- Familiarity with the design and development of embedded software solutions
- Knowledge in software design patterns
- Familiarity with Integration (software/hardware and software/software) and component level testing
- Familiarity on software lifecycle (Design to release)
- Knowledge of software testing framework
