Community Cooperative is looking for a Cook to help oversee all aspects of operations daily in the kitchen and manage volunteers through daily food production. Responsible for helping to create a welcoming and safe environment for all guests and volunteers as well as helping with daily food preparations. Cook will be responsible for coordinating with the Chef and kitchen staff.

Responsibilities

· Assist in recipe and menu planning as well as daily production

· Ensure we follow all National School Lunch Program rules and regulations

· Must be able to direct a volunteer crew in large batch menu production

· Ensure that policies regarding food production, portion control and inventory rotation and control are fully implemented

· Ensure that there is strict adherence to regulations where applicable

· Maintain a clean, sanitized and safe facility

· Monitor and oversee food temperatures during hot and cold handling to reduce the incidence of risk factors known to cause food borne illness

· Receive deliveries and check paperwork to ensure receipt of items

· Assist with tracking food donations

· Assist with putting away and rotating incoming food orders

· Work with volunteers and volunteer groups in a friendly manner to ensure a positive volunteer experience

· Lift 50lbs and work in a drug free workplace

Must be able to pass a background check. Community Cooperative is a drug free workplace.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $17.00 - $18.00 per hour
