The Director of Corporate Facilities Management is responsible for overseeing facility and space matters for all administrative facilities within Intermountain Health.

The position coordinates and manages facility project activities requiring multi-disciplined, multi-group participation (including space programming, space utilization planning, interior planning, construction coordination, furniture installation, cabling, building access, and budget planning) for facilities within the Corporate Offices. This position coordinates closely with Intermountain’s Real Estate, Design and Construction, and Finance departments to prepare project-related schedules, budgets, studies and reports, manage all projects assigned and assist in the development of short and long-range facility plans. The position also directs facility maintenance and manages outside contractors to maintain a standard of excellence in keeping the facilities running smoothly and within budget.

This is an enterprise role for administrative facilities. This position manages a team of employees, including on-site facilities managers, coordinators, PBX operators, and external contractors. This is a highly visible position requiring regular face-to-face, telephone and written interaction with all levels within the Intermountain Organization, including corporate officers, corporate directors, and construction and design professionals. It Manages all Central Office properties and develops and manages the Facility Department budgets for the above-referenced entities.

The position also manages the Intermountain central office systems furniture inventory and installation, as well as corporate satellite entities (including Homecare, The Supply Chain Center, and Central Laundry) and makes appropriate inventory charges to those departments. He/she manages the security access system and works closely with the security team. It facilitates communication between project-related disciplines to optimize team effort (i.e. dissemination of project objectives and other related project information) and coordinates the preparation of the necessary project cost estimates and compiles total project budgetary information. The position performs project walkthroughs and follows up, advises, and closely manages project-related efforts to ensure that all new construction, remodel, reconfiguration, and move projects assigned are completed on schedule, within budget, and to the satisfaction of the user departments and directs, manages, and facilitates the outsourcing of janitorial and other services at all Central Office Region locations. The position prepares studies and reports to measure and continuously improve project and facility performance and prepares and manages budgets for moves and related projects. He/she responds to facility-related requests and inquiries in a timely manner while demonstrating a high level of customer service, acts as a subject matter expert and resource for others and works to solve the day-to-day issues, problems, and complaints from the caregivers in the applicable facilities. This position also directs and implements Intermountain’s remote work strategy.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working in construction management, facilities management, systems furniture design, or a building systems role demonstrating expertise and competency with managing facility project activities requiring multi-disciplined, multi-group participation (including space programming, space utilization planning, interior planning, construction, furniture installation, cabling, building access, and budget planning)
  • Specific training in building or construction management.
  • Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA and general health and safety regulations and be able to read and interpret schematics and building plans.
  • Experience with real estate leasing and management in a role requiring supervisory, management, negotiating and budgeting skills.
  • Experience using word processing, spreadsheet, database, internet and e-mail and scheduling applications.
  • Experience in a role requiring effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Available to travel on occasion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree. Degree must be obtained through an accredited institution. Education is verified.
  • Ten years of experience working in construction management, facilities management, systems furniture design, or a building systems role.
  • Experience in a role requiring leadership or coordination of projects across multiple locations of facilities.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$65.10 - $100.50
