Cost Accountant

Scope of position:

Responsible for reporting and analysis relating to physical inventory and cost accounting. Responsible for maintaining the standard cost system as well as management reporting and variance analysis.

Key responsibilities:

• Maintain and develop management reports for inventory, productivity, and costing annually, and on an as needed basis.
• Monitor and analyze inventory and inter-company sales, taking corrective action when needed.
• Assist in planning and conducting annual physical inventory.
• Prepare journal entries and analysis for financial closing related to inventory and costing.
• Support the annual budgeting process.
• Perform monthly account reconciliations for inventory and costing.
• Update plant standard cost system and intercompany sales database.
• Collaborate with various departments to analyze variances and expenses.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency.
• Adhere to corporate policies and procedures for inventory management and cost activities.

Education/experience:

• BS in Accounting, finance or related discipline.
• Minimum 2 years of related experience of increasing responsibility with a strong preference for experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Microsoft Excel.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and technical skills.
• Working knowledge of enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
• Knowledge of SAP is a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
