Senior Data Engineer role based in North Dublin. This Full-time, permanent role is a prefect fit for someone with 5+ years’ experience in Data Manipulation, Presentation, Warehousing and Back-end development. The ideal candidate will need exceptional Software Development and interpersonal skills to be successful with their application.
The primary purpose of this Data Engineer role is to support, develop and rollout Data Engineering solutions that add value to the existing footprint of data and analytics applications and data services. The Data Engineer will join the Data & Analytics team within the IT department. This team consists of Data Engineers, Data Scientists and Data Analysts who are focused on delivering data driven solutions to the business in collaboration.
Roles and Responsibilities
- The support, development, and rollout of data engineering solutions such as Data Integrations, ETL development and Data Warehousing Operations.
- Hands on development of data engineering solutions using a variety of tools – Oracle (PL/SQL), Microsoft Data & Analytics technology stack (T-SQL, SSRs, SSIS, SSAS), Microsoft DevOps Tools (Azure DevOps, C#) and TARGIT
- Maintenance & upgrading of data and analytics applications to ensure they are maintained and patched to the required levels
- Version Control, Change and Release management of data and analytics solutions through DevOps life cycle
- Collaborate with Business Stakeholders and wider IT to deliver and support data and analytics solutions
- Participate in requirements, analysis and testing of data engineering solutions in collaboration with business users and/or wider data & analytics team members
Minimum Experience & Qualifications
- 5+ years of data and analytics hands on technical development experience with proven track record
- Strong programming and application development skills using Microsoft and/or Oracle technologies
- ETL programming skills, including experience with large code bases, complex data structures, and a variety of data & analytics development tools
- Hands on data and analytics development skills using Microsoft Data & Analytics technology stack – T-SQL, SSIS, SSAS and SSRS
- Data Warehouse Dimension/Relational modelling and Cube development skills is advantage
- Programming knowledge using APIs for Data Integrations with C#, SOAP/REST, etc., is desirable
- Experience of data & analytics reporting/visualisation tools such as TARGIT, Power BI
- Agile Development & Project Methodologies experience
- Experience of DevOps/Data Ops is favourable
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work in pressurised environment
- Ability to work on own initiative and work well within a team

Salary: €50,000.00-€70,000.00 per year
