Daytime Prep Person for Contemporary cocktail bar in Detroit’s financial district

shelby, a James Beard nominated, 75 seat cocktail bar is in need of a self-sufficient prep person to work with our executive chef and bar manager prepping for our weekly service. Our menu is tight (much like our kitchen) but is filled with complex yet approachable dishes.

You will work closely with our culinary team to train and will have some autonomy once acclimated to the vision of the concept. We’re more interested in finding the right type of person rather than the most talented cook.

The ideal candidate is:

• Self-sufficient
• Warm, personable, and empathetic
• A curious cook with the desire to continuously learn
• Clean and organized
• Consistently dependable

Pay begins at $14hr. This is a part-time position with flexible hours of up to 20 hours per week.
