Job Summary:

Paya, a Nuvei Company, is looking for a Director of QA. This person is responsible for planning and directing the policies, programs, and initiatives to monitor and measure the overall quality of IT services, systems, and software at Paya. Ensures that tracking systems capture useful operational metrics for use in reducing defects, improving service, and optimizing the implementation process. This role will be responsible for delivering continuity and consistency on all quality-related matters across our Technology organization, ensuring high-quality levels are achieved in software development standards through the proactive leadership and direction of a diverse team of quality professionals. This role will report directly to the Head of Product Engineering and Planning.

Responsibilities:

• Responsible for defining QA strategy, approach, and execution in development projects.
• Lead and direct the testing team
• Oversee the design and implementation of automated testing strategies and protocols to assess product quality and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Mentor and provide leadership to the QA automation developers
• Provide technical leadership and expertise within the field of Quality Assurance and Testing
• Focus on continuous improvement including usage of appropriate testing tools and techniques. Gather and present testing metrics and testing activities to key stakeholders
• Assure quality products and processes by establishing and enforcing quality standards and testing materials and products.
• Establish quality and reliability standards by studying product and consumer requirements with other members of management and with production operators, technicians, and engineers.
• Implement in-process product inspection standards by studying manufacturing methods and devising testing methods and procedures.
• Establishes standards for the disposition of finished product by devising evaluation tests, methods, and procedures.
• Institutes rework standards by devising inspection and physical testing methods and procedures.
• Creates product quality documentation system by writing and updating quality assurance procedures.
• Maintains product quality by enforcing quality assurance policies and procedures and government requirements.
• Collaborates with other members of management to develop new product and engineering designs and manufacturing and training methods.
• Prepares product and process quality reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends.
• Completes quality assurance operational requirements by scheduling and assigning employees and following up on work results.
• Develops a quality assurance staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees.
• Manages quality assurance staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Ensures quality by planning, monitoring, and appraising job results.
• Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
• Achieves financial objectives by preparing the quality assurance budget, scheduling expenditures, analyzing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• QA Management experience across multiple projects, specifically in Finance or Payments industry.
• Strong leadership qualities, experience managing automated testing departments or testing functions
• Experience in implementing and shaping QA processes and strategies
• Strong technical skills both functional and non-functional, ideally in a continuous delivery environment
• Experience maintaining records, documenting actions, and working with reports required.
• Familiarity working with regulatory requirements and compliance preferred.

Education Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field
