The Director of Strategic Programs and Services is responsible for providing leadership, strategic and operational guidance, and support to programs, services, and initiatives within the SHRS office of Equity, Inclusion and Community Engagement (EDICE). This individual will ensure programs are impactful, aligned with one another and responsive to community, school, and university needs. This incumbent will also work closely with the Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement as well as the program coordinator of the SHRS Wellness Pavilion at the University of Pittsburgh, Community Engagement Center in Homewood. The incumbent in this role will ensure equitable review of practices across SHRS departments and programs by integrating and elevating Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement into functional programs and research initiatives. The incumbent will Influence and facilitate decision making processes (i.e., policy writing, grant writing, intentional goal setting and internal program development and execution) that support an inclusive culture. The incumbent will ensure ongoing staff, faculty and student development around equity, inclusion, and community engagement. The incumbent will participate in strategic planning in program and policy development to support the school’s diversity, equity, inclusion, and community engagement efforts. The incumbent will monitor and advise on key Equity, Diversity and Inclusion metrics with the Associate Dean of Equity, Diversity, Inclusion and Community Engagement.

The candidate will have an earned Master’s degree in education, public policy management or closely related field: demonstrated experience or promise in leading equity, diversity, inclusion, and community engagement activities, securing external grant funding or promise in engaging in local, national, and/or global communities. SHRS Office of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Community Engagement serves as the hub for all community focused initiatives at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Services. The office’s mission is to prepare students and trainees to address health disparities in our communities due to disability, race, culture, gender, age, ethnicity, socio-economic experience/status, religion, ability, gender identity expression, sexual orientation; locally, nationally, and globally.

Master's degree with at least five years of experience required. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted per university guidelines. Experience in higher education and leadership capacity preferred: (1) mentoring/advising students, (2) budget management or project management, (3) conducting/facilitating presentations, (4) grant writing experience (5) some fundraising experience.
