General Scope and Summary

Sage Therapeutics is seeking a highly motivated, innovative, collaborative, resourceful, and results oriented Director, HEOR Project Management & Operations to support operations and project management initiatives within the Sage HEOR organization. The successful candidate will be responsible for project management with a focus on the Real World Evidence team, vendor diligence, procurement/contract management, and other various department-related activities. Other responsibilities include driving project timelines and bridging communication between all key stakeholders. This individual will also help establish and maintain system and processes required for the successful execution and completion of HEOR projects. Roles and Responsibilities

  • Liaise between and partner with research teams to determine project plans, schedules, and delivering on execution.

  • Drive day-to-day operational and project management aspects and oversee a portion of the research portfolio and corresponding academic alliances.

  • Work cross-functionally with other areas to move HEOR projects and activities forward.

  • Assess HEOR capabilities, processes, and systems with Head of Operations to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Ensure operational clarity is maintained and support the development of operating models and processes.

  • Develop and actively manage project timelines as well as integrated project plans.

  • Perform project-related Medical Legal Regulatory review processes (including material development, system support, and vendor management).

  • Develop and maintain complex project plans, status reports, issue logs, and other project-related tools.

  • Prepare and distribute reports and trackers to communicate updates and project status.

  • Serve as a resource and mentor to junior team members.

  • Create and update project timelines, dashboards, forecasts, and other reports for sharing project status to teams.

  • Support the development of best practices, work instructions, and operational processes across several workstreams HEOR.

  • Support KPI establishment and capture metrics related to projects.

  • Facilitate project management meetings.

  • Lead initiatives to improve "best practices," processes, and tools.

Experience, Education and Specialized Knowledge and Skills

Must thrive working in a fast-paced, innovative environment while remaining flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient. Must have excellent interpersonal skills, the ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders, good conflict management and negotiation skills, and the ability to identify issues and raise to key stakeholders in order to develop relevant and realistic plans, programs, and recommendations. Must have a demonstrated ability to translate strategy into action, excellent analytical skills, and an ability to communicate complex issues in a simple way and to orchestrate plans to resolve issues and mitigate risks.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • 8+ years of project management experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • Proficiency in project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Asana).

  • Solid understanding of Outcomes Research methodology and process.

  • Excellent problem solving, organization, and planning.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, and SharePoint.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and desire to work within a team environment.

  • Strong communication, both written and verbal.

  • Strong team player that has a customer service approach and is solution-oriented.

  • Attention to detail.

  • Ability to identify issues and opportunities to improve operational workflow.

  • Ability to work independently, within a multi-disciplinary team, as well as with external partners and vendors.

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, demonstrate flexibility, and manage change.

  • Ability to influence to align relevant stakeholders both strategically and tactically and execute in a timely manner.

Benefits and Compensation

The base salary hiring range for this position is $168,231 - $231,317.*
  • The actual salary offered within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, qualifications, education, skills, and performance.
  • This position is eligible to participate in the Company’s annual bonus plan; the bonus varies based on performance and is subject to the standard terms and conditions of the incentive program.
