Roles and Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Build a world class software development team to consistently deliver complex software solutions, platforms, and research projects of varying size and duration with utmost focus of Product Quality.
- Creates a culture of customer focus and high performance to drive innovation in the products.
- Design and execute on a well thought out strategy for the organization partnering with Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) business functions & collaborating with global functions in the Imaging Software Organization.
- Manage a team responsible for full stack Software development using the latest technologies and methodologies adopted from industry wide practices that are aligned with Imaging Software Platform technology stack.
- Define future technology platforms and architecture for products and services working with global engineering teams.
- Operate as an engaged leader who serves as a subject matter and technical expert for assigned programs and development initiatives, leveraging the global Technology Ownership Map in Software.
- Drive the culture and the mindset in the team for overall Software ownership to provide end-to-end software integration support with Systems, Hardware, Service, Program and Product Management functions.
- Own the resource planning aligned to the business priorities. Assist in the resolution of conflicting priorities through the proactive communication of requirements and timelines with the stakeholders.
- Provide overall functional leadership to the team. Coaching, Mentoring & Training.
- Provide leadership on Lean/Agile principles and development practices.
- Drive a continuous learning culture to help guide continuous improvements.
- Financial budget planning and tracking (Purchased services, SW Licenses etc) for the team.
- Provide day to day work direction for team members engaged in projects and delivery.
- Work with cross functional teams to ensure products and services adhere to compliance and controllership standards
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or “STEM” Majors (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math)
- Minimum 8 years of experience in Software development, product release and post market software life cycle management for medical devices.
- Minimum 2 years of managing a team of Software engineers as a people leader in setting priorities, managing performance, and developing talents.
- Thorough knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle principles.
- Demonstrated successful experience developing software in an agile environment
- Proven track record of working with global engineering teams to deliver on business priorities.
- Proven communication, coaching and interpersonal skills, at all levels of the organization with confidence and clarity. Able to energize and inspire.
- Demonstrated ability to make independent decisions and manage conflicting priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must be responsive and willing to take ownership of issues and drive solutions
Desired Characteristics:
- Understanding of full stack platform concepts and technologies: C++, JAVA, HTML5/CSS3/Angular, Container and Micro Services based architecture and technologies (µServices/µUIs/Rest APIs/docker/ k8s/k3s), BDD driven test framework (Cucumber/Java), Linux OS.
- Through working knowledge of CI/CD concepts and best practices. Understanding of DevOps to increase productivity, build quality gates and automate Software deliveries.
- Understanding of Cyber security and DICOM standards
- Good understanding of Software platform Integration strategies to product portfolios
- Defines product vision. Lays out product roadmap. Maps current requirements to industry trends, analyses competition trends
- Experience with resource planning & tracking, project scheduling, purchased services management and budget planning & tracking
- Capable of evangelizing new technology and identifies new opportunities based on new technology trends.
Capable of establishing a vision, identifies and champions internal/external best practices, tools, and ideas to improve execution and quality. Drives an organization of efficiency, accountability and ownership
