Redwood Empire is a wood product manufacturing and distribution company with locations throughout Northern California. We have an immediate opening for a Dispatcher at our Morgan Hill facility.

The Dispatcher arranges flatbed freight originating from our Morgan Hill distribution center and shipping to locations throughout the United States.

DUTIES INCLUDE

• Coordinates daily shipments, transfers, and deliveries to internal and external customers.
• Designs truck loads in order from first to last drop to ensure maximum delivery efficiency.
• Serves as first point of contact for both internal and external truck drivers.
• Oversees relationships with common carriers and freight brokers
• Negotiates freight rates
• Categorizes sales orders by delivery region.
• Records loads into LumberTrack software.
• Provides loading instructions to yard forklift drivers.
• Generates daily shipping and transfer reports as well as manifests and bills of lading
• Stays up to date on yard inventory, truck capacity, and geography of delivery regions.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Three years of experience in truck dispatch or freight brokering, preferably in the lumber industry
• Strong computer skills are needed
• Familiar with LumberTrack or other dispatch software
• Excellent verbal communication skills
• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Strong organization skills and attention to detail
• Spanish-speaker preferred

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $36.00 - $40.00 per hour
