Dietetic Service DNCC
The dietetic service covers Dublin North City and County is comprised of 12 Community Health networks. There is an existing team of 24 team members working across two Dietetic Departments.
Dublin North department has 5 networks located between Balbriggan , Swords, Malahide, Coolock and Kilbarrack. What do we do?
The Dietitians work with their primary care multidisciplinary team members at network level to deliver dietetic services. These consist of one to one services either online or in person, on line group work at present, home visits and resource development. There are many initiatives in both departments including the pilot of the national weight management programme ( SLAN) , involvement in Healthy Food Made Easy (HFME) locally, development of an online weaning service, roll out of Nutrition Care Process (NCP) as well as involvement in student training. The Department also has a Home Enteral Nutrition Service which is a leader in the field in Ireland.
What posts are available?
Under the National Service Plan (2020) there will be a roll out of Community Specialist Teams (hubs) for Older People and People with Chronic Disease and enhanced staffing in Community Healthcare Networks in DNCC
Integrated Care for Older People
A 0.5 senior post for the integrated care teams for Older people aligned to the Mater hospital, based in the community setting
Chronic Disease Management
There are vacancies avaible in two of the three chronic disease hubs across the area ( Aligned to Mater and Beaumont hospitals) and there are 6 additional 10 senior posts for Diabetes care and weight management as part of the hub team. The senior dietitians will assist in the local development and implementation of the national Type 2 programmes working with the specialist hub team. They will also lead the staff grade dietitians in their roll out of the National Diabetes Prevention Programme and the Community Weight Management Programme.
These Hubs are community based with location in St Clares, Griffith Avenue, glasnevin. Services will be delivered in face-to-face and online formats for both 1:1 and groups. The posts will deliver service in the hub location and there is also potential for satellite clinic services in local networks.

Primary Care
In DNCC each primary care network ( Population 50,000) has been allocated an additional 2WTE senior dietetic posts ( 24 additional seniors). Each network will have either one adult posts or one Paediatric post available at senior level and many networks have both posts available.
