Job Title: CAD Drafter
Division: Weir ESCO
Location: Phoenix, Arizona
Onsite
Purpose of Role: The manufacturing drafter is responsible for gathering drawings and specifications, calculating material and equipment requirements and setting up fabrication methods. This individual will work hand in hand with sales, engineering and manufacturing to provide computer-aided design (CAD) software designs of fabricated items used in the mining industry from existing prints or from scratch.

Key Responsibilities:
- CAD Creation: Create or translate detailed designs with computer-aided design (CAD) software from either customer supplied drawings or measurements taken from the field.
- Manufacturing Instruction: Develops step-by-step manufacturing instructions which drive fabrication execution; also a resource for questions from internal fabricators. Calculate dimensions, weight limitations, time allocated and requirements in materials such as tonnage calculators.
- Customer Service: Use of oracle to create customer facing quotes and cost in a timely manner.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for continuous improvement related to process or product design.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world class safety culture.
Job Knowledge/Education and Qualifications:
- Any equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for candidates that have the ability to perform the objectives above.
- Associate degree in drafting from technical school
- Ability to operate computer-aided design (CAD) software and manual drafting workstations
- Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy
