Position: Driver
Union Gospel Mission of Tarrant County has an immediate opening for an experienced driver. The Driver is responsible for driving the Union Gospel Mission box truck to pick up donated items from residences and businesses and deliver them to the Mission’s warehouse. Passenger driver a plus.
This is a Full-time Position with excellent benefits.
Candidate must have a willingness to work with diverse individuals and have a commitment to Christian ethics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Drive UGM truck on daily route as directed to pick up donated items from residential and commercial donors
- Track items collected and report accurately on pick up log
- Assist warehouse staff in unloading items from the truck to the warehouse
- Drive UGM truck to other locations as directed by the Ware House Manager
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Facility Services Manager
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1-2 residents assigned to skill-building program.

- Current Driver’s Licenses
- Good driving record for three years prior to employment
- Ability to read and interpret daily driving route
- Ability to make good decisions regarding safe road and driving conditions
- Ability to communicate politely with donors as needed
- Ability to communicate with personnel in other departments as needed
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or equivalent; experience in driving box trucks required; strongly preferred an experience CDL Driver with class B endorsement and a clean driving record.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to sit, stand, bend; ability to lift and carry at least 50 lbs; ability to work outdoors to some extent in various weather conditions.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: These job duties require driving a truck and other related physical tasks.
