GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIESThe Early Childhood Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and managing the special education process for students who attend area preschool programs, as well as working closely with Early Intervention (EI) practitioners.SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES: ?Arrange IEP review/re-evaluation assessments and meetings to discuss students progress and write a new or amended IEP.?Monitor IEPs for accuracy and compliance.?Provide assistance designed to improve the quality of teaching to members of the Special Education staff as needed?Consult with area preschools and daycares on child development.?Conduct observations and evaluations of preschool students enrolled in area preschools?Assist with the coordination of the Wayland Public Schools Preschool Screening Program?Manage the consent and evaluation process for preschool students up to and including chairing IEP meetings and the development of the IEP document?Support student transitions from EI to preschool or kindergarten programming?Conduct monitoring visits at area preschools for students who have been identified as needing support?Support the transition process for all students entering kindergarten programming in the Wayland Public SchoolsProvide guidance, support, and monitoring in the implementations of IEPs?Support related service providers with arrangement of consultation, technical assistance, guidance, and professional development?Complete analysis of reports written by related services staff/outside partners?Maintain contacts with external providers ?Perform any other duties and assume other responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee.The responsibilities and duties listed are illustrations of the various types of work performed.
