Morris Group Inc. is looking for a passionate and innovative EHS Specialist to join our thriving organization!

The EHS Specialist will be responsible for creating, implementing, managing and auditing environmental, health and safety programs to meet internal requirements and government regulations (OSHA). This role will be tasked with maintaining knowledge of current industry and regulatory trends and providing subject matter expertise to the company.

Essential Functions:

• Applies basic knowledge and understanding of EHS principles, practices, and equipment to determine if proper methods and procedures are applied.
• Lead compliance with Federal, State, Local, and Industrial regulations i.e. OSHA audits, fire extinguisher inspections etc.
• Develops, implements & maintains EHS policies & procedure documentation
• Lead and support incident/accident investigations, develop action plans, and track progress
• Conducts and documents routine facility inspections
• Communicate issues from inspections to service managers and management as needed
• Complete customer safety compliance surveys
• Coordinate and run safety committee meetings; attend company specific toolbox talk
• Create, develop, and maintain a safety rich culture
• Other risk management initiatives including fleet safety
• Ability to drive during working hours

Other Functions:

• Perform related duties as the need arises

Required Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Safety, Safety Management, EHS, Occupational Safety or other relevant course of study
• Knowledge of hazard communication, LOTO, machine guarding, confined spaces, fall protection, job safety analysis etc.
• Must be teamwork and service oriented
• Excellent communication skills, and interpersonal skills
• Highly motivated, self-starter with strong leadership skills
• Validated experience in a detail oriented role or applicable experience
• Routine travel required to in & out of state facilities; overnights will be required
• Valid drivers license
