Job Summary:

Responsible for promoting Electric Power and Industrial Engine products and services to existing customer base while expanding on that base in order to obtain territorial as well corporate goals. Develops assigned territory, implements territorial sales plans to grow business, and maintains current customer base. Influences and grow sales with new business opportunities within assigned market area/territory. Continually collaborates with EP Sales Manager in order to fulfill the business plan.

Essential Functions:

  • Promotes all aspects of the organization including: sales and promotion of Retail Power Generation products and services for all customer market segments while working to expand on the customer base in order to meet and exceed organizational goals
  • Proactively manages customer accounts within an assigned territory using territory and sales call plans and other methods of predetermined contact and follow-up as determined by leadership on an annual basis
  • Prepares and presents sales proposals with equipment options and performance data
  • Receives customer orders and inputs them into the project management system and serves as the single point of contact customers and Project Management
  • Completes self-development and technical training assignments, and maintains accurate expense reporting on a timely basis in accordance with company policy
  • Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
  • Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Electric Power Generation and Industrial engine applications and services in addition to accounting principles, budget preparation, and business acumen
  • Demonstrated knowledge of selling techniques (prospecting, overcoming objections, closing sales)
  • Excellent selling, negotiating, and closing skills with the ability to build long-term business relationships
  • Proficient with MS Office Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.
  • Understands the implications of new information for both current and future problem- solving and decision-making
  • Uses logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to establish working relationships with multiple departments and various levels of the organization
  • First-class organizational, multi-tasking, and time management skills, deadline-oriented
  • Understands written sentences and paragraphs in work-related documents, and communicates effectively in writing as appropriate for the needs of the audience
  • Ability to perform mathematical computations such as percentages, fractions, addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division quickly and accurately
  • Ability to work independently and within a team in a fast-paced, high-volume environment with an emphasis on accuracy and timeliness
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret project plans and specifications, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
  • The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences

Education and Experience:

  • A minimum of three years of sales with an electrical background and relevant skill, knowledge in EPG industry, or experience is required. Three to five years of experience preferred
  • A high school diploma or equivalent with some college coursework or an equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Valid driver’s license required

Travel:

  • Extensive driving required; occasional overnight travel required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $50,000.00 - $129,939.50 per year
