Electrical and Instrumentation (E&I) Technician

If so, Georgia-Pacific has an immediate need for a self-motivated and knowledgeable Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) Technician at our Tacoma, WA facility. E&I Technicians are required to have a thorough understanding of safe work practices and troubleshooting and maintenance of manufacturing equipment.

Our E&I Techs will work a shift that includes weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed. The typical schedule will be Monday – Friday from 6:00am to 2:30pm (5 day work week) or 6:00am to 4:30pm (4 day work week).

What You Will Do In Your Role

• Adhering to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures
• Ensuring all electrical and instrumentation work meets established codes and standards
• Troubleshooting, calibrating, replacing, and installing instrumentation components (PLC I/O, photo-eye sensors, limit switches, level and temperature transmitters) as well as electrical components (troubleshooting 480v breakers, 3 Phase motors and starters)
• Reading Ladder Logic and electrical schematics for troubleshooting purposes
• Serve as a vital resource for the manufacturing machinery preventative and predictive maintenance program
• Willingness to respond to on-call responsibilities on a monthly rotation

The Experience You Will Bring

Requirements:

• Three (3) years of electrical and/or instrumentation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment OR Two (2) year degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic or Industrial Technology plus one (1) year of electrical and/or instrumentation experience
• Experience demonstrating computer proficiency
• Experience installing, troubleshooting, repairing, and calibrating electrical/instrumentation equipment

What Will Put You Ahead

• Five (5) years of electrical and/or instrumentation experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Working knowledge of NEC or Washington State Electrical License (EL01 or EL07)
• Experience working with servo drives and/or burner management systems
