Job Specifications

Electrical Engineers are responsible for handling assigned projects relating to the design and development of new products and the modifications or adaptations of existing products. This position needs to exercise outstanding judgement and initiative to complete a variety of application and design projects. Electrical engineers test motors, gearmotors, motion control systems, and customer applications by using a wide variety of test equipment. They prepare technical reports and are responsible for electrical engineering aspects of motor and control designs.

Skill Set

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related engineering field required
• 0-4 years of related experience in motor design
• Knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering is needed.
• Understanding of winding design for a variety of motor types
• Experience with thermal protection, impedance protection, capacitor sizing and starting devices
• Experience with motor testing methods
• Experience with insulation systems, varnishes, cables, connectors
• Knowledge of industry standards for safety UL, CE, CSA
• Excellent computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Access and Word
