Ball State University welcomes applications for an Electronic Research Administrator (eRA) Systems Coordinator to join our Office of Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA). Salary and benefit packages for this position are competitive, with a starting salary of $44,000. Ball State offers generous vacation time and a fantastic tuition remission program for employees and their dependents.

Position Function
Manages electronic research administration (eRA) systems and databases, including providing data reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis, as well as ad hoc reports as requested; responsible for integrity and accuracy of data in eRA systems for required reporting to both external stakeholders and partners within the institution; maintains high levels of knowledge and expertise on current systems of record (e.g., Cayuse Research Suite) for all offices within the Office of Research, including Sponsored Projects Administration (SPA) and the Office of Research Integrity (ORI); trains stakeholders within both the unit and the University on systems interface as needed.
Minimum Education
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
Minimum Experience
At least one year of experience in working with data in database formats; experience in the creation, maintenance, and tracking of electronic filing systems; experience in data organization and interpretation; technical knowledge of spreadsheets, including use of formulas and tables.
Minimum Other
Excellent technological skills; able to confidently interact with and complete tasks using computer-based technologies; proficient mathematical and computer skills; experience using Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel; able to produce detailed, accurate work within time constraints.
Authorization to work in the US
Candidates for searches must have current authorization to be employed in the U.S. without employer sponsorship.
Preferred Education
Bachelor’s degree in a social science, science, statistics, research-based, computer science, or related field
Preferred Experience
Higher education experience; experience working with electronic research administration systems and their administrative platforms; experience with designing and implementing quantitative and qualitative research projects and disseminating the results to non-technical audiences, including visualization (tables and graphics); experience safeguarding data and maintaining confidentiality.
Preferred Other
Excellent organizational, interpersonal, and time management skills; experience using Cayuse Research Suite; demonstrated commitment to diversity and inclusion; demonstrated skills working across different disciplines and/or offices; ability to multi-task well under pressure, simultaneously handling a variety of projects and prioritizing tasks to meet deadlines; ability to operate independently as well as part of a team; excellent problem-solving skills.
