Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced EMG/NCS technician to perform diagnostic tests on patients to assess their neuromuscular function. The technician will be responsible for conducting nerve conduction studies (NCS) tests and EEG tests. The successful candidate will have a strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and neurology, as well as experience in conducting these tests and working with patients.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic tests, including EEG and NCS, on patients as ordered by physicians
- Prepare patients for tests and explain procedures to them
- Set up equipment and electrodes for testing
- Conduct tests on patients and record data accurately
- NO REPORT WRITING REQUIRED
- Ensure that equipment is properly maintained and calibrated
- Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide the best possible care for patients
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience conducting EEGs and NCS tests
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, and neurology
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to explain procedures to patients and work collaboratively with healthcare professionals
- Strong attention to detail and ability to record and interpret data accurately
- Ability to maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA regulations
- Flexibility and willingness to work independently or as part of a team
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Willingness to participate in ongoing education and training to stay current with advancements in the field
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand for extended periods of time
- Ability to lift and move equipment
- Manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform tests and manipulate equipment
- Ability to maintain a high level of concentration during testing procedures
Part time position is specifically for Mondays and Saturdays with offices in Brooklyn, Bronx, and Queens.
Must have experience with Nerve Conduction Studies and EEGs. SSEP Experience preferred.
Hours are 9AM-5PM
Full time position requires working Monday to Saturday.
