Upholstery Engineer - Corporate Las Vegas

In this role you will be responsible for meeting with the department leaders, selecting the appropriate materials for the job, and installing the upholstery to meet the desired specifications. You may also be required to dismantle and rebuild furniture in which the upholstery has been replaced.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE POSITION INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

• Meeting with department leaders to plan and coordinate work
• Interpreting design orders and creating upholstery stencils.
• Selecting and sourcing upholstery materials.
• Dismantling furniture for upholstery preparation.
• Measuring and cutting leather or fabric with the aid of design stencils.
• Installing foam and batting to the furniture framework.
• Installing and repairing furniture webbing and seating springs.
• Stretching out and installing fabric or leather coverings.
• Stitching, gluing, and nailing fabric into place.
• Smoothing out imperfections.
• Conducting quality checks on completed orders.
• Perform basic carpentry techniques necessary to maintain furniture and fixture such as tightening, gluing, touching-up finishes, adjusting, aligning, and assembling where necessary
• Maintain inventory of materials and logs of work completed
• Move and reset furniture around for repairs
• Daily travel to various locations for installations, repairs, and maintenance
• Provide updates of progress to requesters in a timely manner
• Ability to travel to various company locations
• Assist and/or complete additional tasks as assigned

EDUCATION/WORKING KNOWLEDGE:

• High School Diploma Preferred
• Minimum of five (5) years of experience as an upholsterer
• Proven work experience as an upholsterer.
• Excellent design skills.
• Detail-oriented.
• Ability to draw and interpret design templates.
• Knowledge of upholstery tools including hot knives, nail guns, and sewing equipment.
• Ability to lift, pull, and manipulate heavy objects.
• Ability to stand, kneel, and walk for up to eight hours a day.
• Valid Driver’s License
• 21+ years of age

• 80% Local Travel (United States)
• Work in an environment that is subject to varying levels of noise, crowds, and smoke, the severity of which depends upon the guest volume
• May work extended hours irregular shifts, evening and/or weekend shifts, and holiday work may be required
• Maintain a professional, neat, and well-groomed appearance adhering to Company standards
• Must be effective as part of a team; ability to interact with internal and external customers, managers, and co-workers in a professional, courteous manner
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Ability to handle a fast-paced, busy, and somewhat stressful environment

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00 per hour
