The Iowa Department of Public Health (IDPH) and Department of Human Services (DHS) merged on July 1, 2022 to form one agency, the Iowa Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

We are seeking an Executive Officer to join the team at the Glenwood Resource Center (GRC) in Glenwood, which offers a continuum of care to Iowans experiencing intellectual disabilities. Employees are eligible for a $1,500 retention payment for a commitment of 7 pay periods (14 weeks) and are eligible for renewal at the end of each 7 pay periods until the facility closes. The Executive officer serves as an Executive Assistant to the GRC Superintendent. Some job duties include:

• Assistance with compliance of regulations and standards identified in reviews by the Department of Justice, Department of Inspections and Appeals and IME reviews, assuring data is available for management decisions.
• As a member of Glenwood Resource Center's Executive Team, participates in processes related to policies, procedures, program direction, and facility resource allocation.
• Routinely monitor and report to the facility superintendent on performance and compliance including follow-up to ensure improvement and/or maintenance of quality.
• Complete monitoring activities in coordination with other department managers. Review records and charts for compliance, monitor active treatment and monthly/quarterly integrated reviews.
• Analyze federal and state laws, rules and regulations, projects underway in other states, and other sources of information for ideas and solutions that will maintain compliance with regulations.
• Serves as chair of the facility Policy and Procedure Committee, which develops and reviews facility policies to assure they are current to within one year and are consistent with the Code of Iowa, ICF/ID guidelines, and DHS policy.
• Ensure the Executive Committee and the Education and Training Services trainers doing New Employee Orientation are trained on the updated/revised policies to include what the specific revisions are and what if anything needs to be retrained and the frequency of that training.
• Chairs the facility’s Employee Incident Report Review Committee to review employee injury, incidents, assigning corrective actions, addressing needed training, maintenance, or other precautions and monitors for trends. Provide relevant information to the Safety Committee and the Executive Committee.
• Attends and participates in Quality Council-monthly, Physical Nutritional Management Core Team meetings, Treatment Program Administrator meetings, Treatment Program Manager/Resident Treatment Supervisor meetings.
